Most parties outside Congress and BJP are of a regional nature. And they stand to gain by exploiting their regional vote bank to wean voters away frm the national parties. It is something that I have earlier mentioned in my blog and have suggested Presidential democracy as a solution for the same. To form the government you will need a national perspective meaning focusing on regional and caste niches won't work. The issue of regional conflicts will increase as time progresses.
