About

Joseph Thomas (known as Jo in the blogging world) is a blogger, singer, composer and podcaster. A goldsmith-turned-techie, who hails from Thrissur district in Kerala State of India is now working as a Web Designer in an MNC in the capital city of Kerala. His journey from a Goldsmith to Techie has been featured in Connected Indians, an initiative by Intel Corporation to raise Internet awareness in India. He is so passionate about music; singing and composing are more than just a mere hobby to him. Jo has composed several songs and his most recent work includes a theme song for a yet-to-be-released Malayalam telefilm. Music, movies, art, internet etc are his favorite hobbies.

Just Jo, his personal blog, was started in March of 2005 and is mainly a space to express his opinion on everything that he feels like writing about. Just Jo was first hosted in Blogger and it was moved to Wordpress in 2008. Jo is also a music blogger and has been music blogging since 2005 which makes him probably the first music blogger from India. Many have followed suit and he started a blog called Audio India, where he keeps tracks of all music bloggers from India.

Jo has founded Blogswara (Wiki), an internet platform for amateur musicians. Blogswara produces internet music albums which are freely available to listen and download original music created by amateur as well as professional musicians. So far it has released 4 albums and the fifth one is to be released in December 2008. Jo has been featured in major Indian newspapers like Indian Express, The Hindu, Business Line and also at RadioandMusic.com for his efforts on Blogswara. M-Pod, the first Malayalam podcast, was founded by Jo in 2005. M-Pod has been mentioned in a Tehelka article about podcasts from India and also in the international Podcast User Magazine (issue #18).
