Indian Penal Code, Section 377

Indian Penal Code, Section 377

I can’t understand how they feel this thing! :-o

It is the same way we feel about women!

But still… :-D

Well, they prefer a different way. :-)

I can’t imagine my son being this way. Would you feel okay if your future kid goes this way?

I wouldn’t. :-D Now it’s got me thinking, isn’t it pure hypocrisy?

Yeah!

Need not be. You have the right to feel what you feel. But at the time you start imposing on others what you feel, that becomes a legal problem. So as long as your son/daughter dependant on you, you can control them. But once they are on their own, they are free to do it if they prefer it that way. To accept them or not are all based on how broad-minded you are. 8-)

Right. And regardless of what I feel, the government should be taking care of the individual’s rights.

Absolutely. On that note, government should not club Homosexuality with Pedophilia. One is sex between two consenting adults and the other is sexual abuse.

Man! Are you gay? :-D

Yeah. :-P So what? :-D

(That was a conversation between 3 people, including myself, when the news of Union Health Minister taking up the cause of Homosexuality came up)

    Thanks Jo, nicely debated :)

It’s high time this section which was framed in 1860 to be removed. As a catholic, I wonder what would be church’s stand on this. I was always taught in my religion classes that it’s a sin.

In Canada where I live, our rights are upheld by democratic sanction and not religious. It is high time we stop asking religious authorities to opine. History has shown that this has done more harm than good.

    >> Sabu: Catholic Church’s stand would be obvious. They wouldn’t allow it by anyway! :-)

Section 377 should be repealed and a new law should be framed. Why? Because Section 377 doesn’t differentiate sex between two willing, adult partners and sex between a child and an adult (sexual molestation/rape). It punishes both equally. This is unjust.

In the Bible SODOM and Gomorrah were destroyed by God because they practised SODOMY. There is the famous escape of Abraham’s nephew Lot from SODOM.India and all countries that allow SODOMY will have to be destroyed by God. The MEDIA’s efforts to create sensation and increase TRP is responsible for all this.
