Minchaagi Neenu (cover)
Posted by JoNov 3
I heard about this song from a couple of my friends in Bangalore and got hooked to it since then. This song has shades of the popular Kannada hit song Anisuthide Yaako Indu from the movie Mungaaru Male but still this is a very beautiful song, thanks to the magical voice of Sonu Nigam. I recorded this over the weekend when I was at home. As I don’t know even a little bit of Kannada, the diction issues are bound to happen. So pardon me for that and let me know what you think of this.

I love the song selection. Sonu nigam is such a great singer, but for some reason i had a feeling that his voice did not match with the guy in that movie. Your voice truly matched one hundered percent. And that gives the song a completion with perfection.

Nice. There’s a Mallu accent but doesn’t matter, like Yesudas. You sing so well! So no problemo. Keep singing.

I often tune into some of the popular FM channels in Bangalore, while on the steering. After spending 12 years in Bangalore, I can tell you that Kannada movie industry has been the worst in South India (and may be one of the worst all over India as well) when it comes to quality themes, acting skills, direction and the overall technology utilization. Most of their directors, movie stars and singers are pathetic.
However, for the past one and half years or so, a surge of artistes (especially cinemotographers, singers, heroins) from the north and other south Indian states has been happening. And Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan, Kunal Gunjanwala, Shreya Ghosal etc have produced some awesome songs! But the real reason behind the resurge is a lyricist – actually a poet – who has managed to write all those beautiful songs. His name is Jayanth Kaikini and with his quality lyrics some music directors have started getting better as well.
Cheers,
Ajith

Jess: Thank you!
Ajith: I have been wondering how come it is mostly the singers from the Hindi film industry who rules the Kannada music industry. Anyways, I see that they have been giving a lot of hits lately.

Are you sure about this line Jo: “As I don’t know even a little bit of Kannada,”?
If YES then I wonder!
Brilliant performace. All the best
Comment by Jo on November 23, 2008 at 12:35 am
Yes Kiran.
Thank you!
In fact, I was singing some Kannada songs in the company of my friend’s friends from Bangalore who are Kannadigas.
They enjoyed the songs. Music really has no language barrier, don’t you think?

Aha….Well sung Jo…Kannada paravagilla..!!!! Kannada isn’t a very difficult language to learn…Especially for Malayalees…Padikkoo tto…….”Anisuthidhe Yaako Indhu…” would sound wonderful if sung by you…Try it…!!!!!
