BeerCamp Kerala!

It has come to our attention that there are so many events happening in our state which is totally misleading us, the Kudiyans (drunkards) of Kerala. One such event is called BarCamp Kerala which took place just some weeks back. We, the kudiyans of Kerala, were totally misguided by the name of the event and were dissappointed to find that the BarCamp had nothing to do with a Bar at all! We had even gone there with a handful of pickle and onion expecting that they would have a couple of pegs for us. But instead we found a group of young people discussing some weird topics. WTF!!
Enough is enough we say! So we have teamed up to come up with the first ever BeerCamp Kerala!! YESH PEEPPLES!!! The official BeerCamp Kerala is to happen in Chalakudy (where the liquor sales break it’s own record on every single festive season in the whole of Kerala) and the dates are to be announced soon. You will get lots of free beer and all you have to do is to bring up a stainless steel glass from your kitchen.
Adding to the free beer, we will also be having an un-derwear-conferene where all of us will be discussing the ways of effective drinking. The following sessions will be there, taken by some eminent personalities from Kerala:
vaaLu vekkal (vomitting) as an art form – by kanaal Vaasu
How to drink a full bottle with one piece of onion – spirit Mathaayi
Idiot’s guide to get rid of hang over – kavutta Mammathu
So what are you waiting for? Get your a$$es out of those sewers! Confirm your attendence now!!
See you at BeerCamp Kerala! Baar Salaam!!

That was a catchy title and image… I almost got confused (rather excited) being somebody from surroundings of Chalakudy.
You are absolutely right about the liquor sales in Chalakudy/Thrissur area… Everytime I visit my hometown people (even teens) are only discussing whether to hit Koratty bar or Chalakudy ones. Apsara and all a bit passe now and kids have enough dough to get into star rated bars these days.
(Not forgetting the relevant matter here…the bar camp)

Hmmm…..
How about Open Source Beer – and Free Beer
Will we have any beer based social activism around this ? This is Kerala after all – we like our drinks with some socio-political banter

Nikhil N:
Ajith: There are a couple of new star bars in the highway, close to Amballur.
I’ve been there and they actually serve good liquor for not-so-high price compared to the bars in Thrissur town.
Technikhil: Thanks for the links!

hi
beer/Rum/vodca.. are actually not open source since the manufacturing technique is still unknow to public(End user).. so the actual open source is nadan patta(country made alcahol) the manufacturing method can be tuned according to our taste.
As LDF goverment is promoting FOSS they must promote this Patta too.
December 17th, 2008 at 12:44 pm
so try to arrange one open source patta camp….

Hehe… yeah. And have you been to Maapraanam shaappu in Thrissur? People go there even just to try out the variety of “shaappu food” they have!

You’re serious?! Thats free beer you’re talking about? what about country liquor?
December 18th, 2008 at 11:02 am
Country liquor is a good idea.. hmm…
But since we cannot assure the quality and there are thousands of different recipes for that, am not sure how well it would go or the organizers would be at the risk of going to court!
